ITINERARY

Depart Nairobi after breakfast, heading northeast past the scenic Central Highlands through Embu and Meru towns. Arrive at Meru National Park in time for lunch.

In the afternoon, enjoy your first bird-watching session in the park’s wetlands and riverine forests.

Birds to Spot: African Finfoot, Pel’s Fishing Owl, African Fish Eagle, and Yellow-necked Spurfowl.

Spend the entire day exploring Meru’s varied landscapes. Early morning and late afternoon bird walks offer the best sightings. Highlights: Birding along the Tana River and exploring Elsa’s Kopje area.
