This short but incredibly rewarding Bird Watching Safari takes you north to Lake Baringo, located in Kenya’s Great Rift Valley. The freshwater lake is a biodiversity jewel, famous for its impressive bird list and spectacular landscapes surrounded by cliffs and acacia woodland.
In just two days, you’ll explore the lake by boat, take guided bird walks with a local ornithologist, and visit the nearby cliffs to find species of the semi-arid northern zone. Expect to spot over 200 species in one day — a paradise for any birder or wildlife photographer.
Depart Nairobi early morning and drive through the Great Rift Valley, passing through scenic highlands and farmlands before descending into the arid Baringo basin. Arrive at Lake Baringo in time for lunch at your lodge or camp.
