TOUR OVERVIEW
One of the classic budget adventure safaris to explore Kenya’s most iconic destinations. Journey through the Great Rift Valley into the heart of the savannah and semi-arid north. Your adventure begins in the world-famous Maasai Mara Game Reserve, home of the Big Five, big cats, and the legendary Great Wildebeest Migration (July–October). Continue to Lake Nakuru National Park, a beautiful alkaline lake teeming with flamingos, pelicans, and over 450 bird species, as well as rhinos and other wildlife.
Finally, explore Samburu National Reserve, a rugged, dramatic wilderness located in Kenya’s northern frontier. Expect sightings of elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, and unique species only found here — including the Beisa Oryx, Reticulated Giraffe, Grevys Zebra, Gerenuk, and Somali Ostrich, collectively known as the Samburu Special Five. Accommodation is in comfortable budget tented camps or lodges, offering a close-to-nature experience. The park also borders the homelands of the Samburu people, a proud and traditional semi-nomadic tribe known for their colorful culture and pastoral lifestyle.

ITINERARY
Leave Nairobi in the morning and drive through the scenic Great Rift Valley, with a brief stop at the viewpoint for panoramic photos of this spectacular geological wonder. Continue past Narok town with a picnic lunch en route, arriving at the Maasai Mara Game Reserve in the afternoon. Upon arrival, check into your camp/lodge and relax. If time permits, head out for a late afternoon game drive to spot the first wildlife — including the Black-Maned Lions, Elephants, Cheetahs, Leopards, Buffalos, and other plains game. Return to camp for dinner and overnight.
Optional add-on: Evening cultural visit to a nearby Maasai village to learn about their traditions and Lifestyle (at an extra cost).

Start the day with an early morning game drive when wildlife is most active. Return to camp for breakfast and relaxation. After lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drive across the vast savannah in search of more wildlife. You may witness breathtaking moments of predator-prey interactions or spot rare species such as the Serval Cat and Caracal. The Mara is also home to over 450 bird species, including colorful rollers and vultures. Return to camp for dinner and overnight.
Optional add-on: Early morning hot air balloon safari (at extra cost) for a stunning aerial view of the Mara followed by a champagne breakfast.

After breakfast, leave Maasai Mara with a game drive en route as you exit the park. Drive through the beautiful highlands and agricultural landscapes of the Rift Valley. Picnic lunch on the way and arrive at Lake Nakuru late in the afternoon. Check into your camp/hotel, enjoy a warm shower, dinner, and overnight stay.

Start with an early pre-breakfast game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for its flamingos, white and black rhinos, Rothschild giraffes, and tree-climbing lions. After breakfast, depart for Samburu National Reserve, passing through Thomson’s Falls at Nyahururu and the lush highlands of Laikipia. Enjoy lunch en route and arrive in Samburu in the late afternoon. Check into your camp/lodge, freshen up, and relax as you take in the peaceful atmosphere of northern Kenya. Dinner and overnight at the camp/lodge.

Spend the day exploring the unique ecosystem of Samburu, characterized by acacia woodlands, riverine forests, and open plains. After breakfast, depart for a morning game drive along the Ewaso Nyiro River, where you might spot elephants cooling off, lions resting under acacia trees, and leopards hiding in rocky outcrops. Return to camp for lunch and leisure, followed by an afternoon game drive to search for the Samburu Special Five — the Reticulated Giraffe, Beisa Oryx, Grevys Zebra, Gerenuk, and Somali Ostrich.
Optional add-on: A Samburu village tour to experience their culture, traditional dances, and Crafts (this comes at an extra cost).
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.
After breakfast, depart Samburu and drive to Nanyuki, at the foothills of Mount Kenya, Africa’s second-highest peak. Clients wishing to climb Mt. Kenya may be dropped off here. Enjoy lunch en route and continue the drive back to Nairobi, arriving in the late afternoon (around 4:30–5:00 PM). Drop-off at your hotel or airport — marking the end of a truly unforgettable Kenyan safari experience.
