ITINERARY

Drive Time: 5–6 hours from Kampala / 3 hours from Mbale

  • Arrive at Sipi Falls, Uganda’s most beautiful highland retreat. Enjoy a guided walk to the three-tier Sipi Falls, visit a local coffee farm, and soak in panoramic views of the Karamoja plains below. In the evening, relax by the fireplace as you meet your trekking guide for a detailed briefing and gear check.

  • Your trek begins with a scenic climb through lush montane forest and bamboo zones. The trail passes Chebonet Falls and peaceful streams, with chances to spot black-and-white colobus monkeys and vibrant bird species.
  • Reach Tutum Cave Camp by mid-afternoon. Your deluxe tent will already be pitched by the porter team — complete with camping chairs, table setup, and warm drinks served at sunset.
  • Overnight: Tutum Cave Camp.

Continue to Wagagai Peak (4,321m), Mount Elgon’s highest point. Take in the panoramic views stretching into Kenya and the plains of Karamoja. Celebrate your achievement before descending to Mude Cave Camp for a warm dinner and a well-earned rest.
  • Overnight: Mude Cave Camp.
  • Meals: Breakfast,Lunch & Dinner.
  • Trekking Time: 5–6 Hrs | Distance:15 Km | Descent: -2,250m

  • Descend via the Sasa Trail, passing through bamboo forest, farmlands, and local villages. Greet friendly locals along the way as you complete your trek at Budadiri Gate. Receive your Mount Elgon Summit Certificate before transferring to Mbale town for a refreshing lunch and onward journey.
  • Meals: Breakfast & Lunch.
