WHY CHOOSE LEMOSHO ROUTE

  • The Lemosho Route offers the most breathtaking and diverse landscapes of all Kilimanjaro routes — from lush rainforests and rolling moorlands to the dramatic Shira Plateau and the iconic Barranco Wall. Every day brings new and spectacular views.
  • Spanning 7 to 8 days, Lemosho provides ample time for acclimatization, following the “climb high, sleep low” principle. This gradual ascent greatly improves your chances of reaching Uhuru Peak (5,895 m) safely and successfully.
  • Lemosho merges with the Machame Route near Shira Camp, allowing trekkers to enjoy the best sections of both trails — including the Lava Tower, Barranco Valley, and the Stella Point approach to the summit.
  • Unlike other routes that begin in busier areas, Lemosho starts on the western slopes of Kilimanjaro, offering a quieter and more remote experience during the first few days — perfect for trekkers who value solitude and nature.
  • Thanks to its gradual ascent profile and extended duration, the Lemosho Route boasts one of the highest summit success rates on Kilimanjaro — often exceeding 90% when trekked over 8 day.
